Overview of the press conference of the 2017 National Women's Amateur Golf Championship

According to the regulations of the Organizing Committee, female golfers participating in the tournament must meet the Amateur Status Regulations 2017 as prescribed by R&A Rules Limited. This year's tournament increased the number of rounds to 3 official rounds (December 8, 9 & 10) for golfers in the low handicap group to create conditions for these golfers to use the results of the tournament to participate in the World Amateur Golfers Ranking (WAGR). Currently, we have 2 female golfers named in the WAGR Ranking, Nguyen Thao My and Hanako Kawasaki. The remaining groups of athletes will only compete in 2 official rounds on December 9 & 10.

Athletes will be divided into three groups: National Championship Group (Group A) for athletes of Vietnamese nationality with a USGA Index Handicap not exceeding 16.0 at the time of registration. Group B for athletes with a USGA Index Handicap from 16.1 to 25.0 at the time of registration. Group C for athletes with a USGA Index Handicap from 25.1 to 36.0 at the time of registration.

The National Championship will be played in stroke play format over three rounds of 18 holes (54 holes in total). The winner will be the player with the lowest total GROSS score at the end of the tournament. In addition to the three main prizes, golfers ranked from Fourth to Tenth will also receive certificates and gifts. To give athletes more opportunities to compete, the Organizing Committee also added NET points based on the daily Handicap (System 36) on December 9 & 10, applicable to all three tournaments. Each round will be scored separately and there will be a set of prizes for each day of competition.

To register for the tournament, golfers must fill in all information according to the Official Registration Form of the Tournament and send it to the Organizing Committee before 4:00 p.m. on December 1, 2017 at the address: Vietnam Golf Association, No. 125 Nguyen Son Street, Gia Thuy Ward, Long Bien District, Hanoi.
