The recent four-day holiday provided tourists with more time to explore and experience Hue.
In particular, the number of visitors to the Hue Imperial Citadel Complex - a World Cultural Heritage site - reached a record high of 69,031 during the four days of April 29-30 and May 1-2, including 11,272 international visitors and 57,741 domestic visitors. Notably, on May 1st, the Hue heritage site welcomed 24,313 visitors who purchased tickets, the highest number ever recorded.
According to the Department of Tourism, the high number of visitors to Hue during this year's holiday season was due to the effect of large-scale festivals and events that attracted many tourists and locals to visit and experience, such as the Hue Traditional Food Week, Thuan An Beach Festival, A Luoi and Nam Dong highland markets… which attracted thousands of participants.
In addition, local festival activities and programs are planned to ensure stability, safety, and quality.
The increase in tourist numbers to Hue during the April 30th - May 1st holiday is a positive sign for the local tourism industry. This is also an opportunity for Hue to boost tourism promotion and attract more visitors in the future.
