Hue stops welcoming visitors to the Imperial City at night

16/10/2017

According to the Hue Monuments Conservation Center, the "Imperial City at Night" program will temporarily stop serving tourists from October 15, 2017.

The reason given is that Hue is entering the rainy season, making it difficult to carry out the program. There is currently no information on when the Imperial City will welcome night visitors again.

Hue Imperial City began welcoming night visitors from April 22. From 7 p.m. to 10 p.m., visitors to the Imperial City can see with their own eyes the sparkling scenery of Hue Royal Palace at night; learn about ancient royal rituals such as the Changing of the Guard ceremony; enjoy Hue royal court music, royal dances, games; watch performing activities such as royal guards practicing martial arts...The ticket price for the night tour is the same as the daytime price, for both Vietnamese and foreign visitors, 150,000 VND/person. Every night, the Royal Palace Night Tour welcomes 4,000 - 9,000 visitors.

The project to light up the Hue Flag Tower has also been proposed to the People's Committee of Thua Thien Hue province to attract visitors. Accordingly, 1,000 LED lights will be installed around the Flag Tower to light up this architectural work from 6 p.m. to 2 a.m. every day. If approved, the project is expected to be completed by the end of December and will connect the Flag Tower area with Ngo Mon.
