Having joined Accor in 1992, Mr. Haandrikman brings 25 years of experience in hotel management to Hanoi. He officially assumed the role of General Manager of Metropole Hanoi Hotel this June.
Since joining the French hotel group, Mr. Haandrikman has held senior management positions at leading hotels in Amsterdam, Brussels, New York and Moscow, as well as Sofitel-branded hotels in The Hague (Netherlands), Paris (France), Vienna (Austria), Shanghai (China) and most recently Bangkok (Thailand).
During his time in Bangkok, Mr. Haandrikman was the general manager of two AccorHotels properties, including the 345-room Sofitel Bangkok Sukhumvit. Under Mr. Haandrikman’s management, the Sofitel Bangkok Sukhumvit was considered one of the best five-star hotels in Thailand. A Dutchman, he also oversaw the opening and management of the prestigious Sofitel Vienna Stephansdom in Austria and the prestigious Sofitel Paris Defense in France.
Haandrikman graduated from Glion University, Hotel School in the Netherlands, Executive Management Program at ESSEC and Executive Management Program at Cornell Business School, USA.

This June, Vietnam’s most acclaimed hotel also welcomed a new Deputy General Manager. Joseph Colina comes from Washington, where he served as General Manager of the Sofitel Washington DC Lafayette Square.
Colina has over 10 years of experience in the world's leading hotels. A US national, he began his career as Director of Guest Services at the Sofitel Minneapolis in 2005 and later served as Director of Guest Services at the Sofitel Chicago Water Tower and Director of Rooms at the Sofitel Washington DC Lafayette Square.

Information about Sofitel Legend Metropole Hanoi Hotel
Opened in 1901, Sofitel Legend Metropole Hanoi is known as the Grand Dame of the Vietnamese hotel industry and one of the benchmark hotels in Asia. In 2009, Metropole Hanoi became the first Sofitel branded hotel to be classified as an Accor Legendary Hotel.
