The inaugural flight received a very positive response with 93% of seats booked. The route launch ceremony was held at Cam Ranh International Airport, welcoming the first flight AK204 to Nha Trang. The flight landed at 11:35 AM on September 14th and was greeted with a ceremonial water salute. Among those on board were Dato' Fam Lee Ee, Member of the Board of Directors of AirAsia Berhad; Spencer Lee, Commercial Director of AirAsia Berhad; and a group of journalists from Malaysia, Australia, and Singapore, who will later participate in a program exploring the beautiful coastal city of Nha Trang.
Alongside this momentous event, a press conference was held in Nha Trang with the participation of Ms. Nguyen Thi Le Thanh, Deputy Director of the Khanh Hoa Department of Tourism; Mr. Nguyen Minh Tai, Deputy Director of Cam Ranh Airport; Mr. Nguyen Thai Hoa, CEO of SAGS at Cam Ranh Airport; Ms. Le Thi Hoang Oanh, Deputy Director of SAGS Saigon; Mr. Dato' Fam Lee Ee, Member of the Board of Directors of AirAsia Berhad; and Mr. Spencer Lee, Commercial Director of AirAsia Berhad.
