The inaugural flight received a very positive response with 93% of the seats booked. The inaugural flight was held at Cam Ranh International Airport, welcoming the inaugural flight AK204 to Nha Trang. The flight landed at 11:35 AM on 14 September and was greeted with a water salute. On board the flight were Mr. Dato' Fam Lee Ee, Board Member of AirAsia Berhad; Mr. Spencer Lee, Commercial Director of AirAsia Berhad; a group of journalists from Malaysia, Australia and Singapore who will then join the program to explore the beautiful coastal city of Nha Trang.
Along with this important event, in Nha Trang, a press conference took place with the participation of Ms. Nguyen Thi Le Thanh, Deputy Director of Khanh Hoa Department of Tourism, Mr. Nguyen Minh Tai, Deputy Director of Cam Ranh Airport, Mr. Nguyen Thai Hoa, CEO of SAGS at Cam Ranh Airport, Ms. Le Thi Hoang Oanh - Deputy Director of SAGS Saigon, Mr. Dato' Fam Lee Ee, Member of the Board of Directors of AirAsia Berhad; and Mr. Spencer Lee, Commercial Director of AirAsia Berhad.
