Have you ever dreamed of a trip to Asia filled with unforgettable experiences? Let Lonely Planet, the world's leading travel guide publisher, help you make that dream a reality. They recently announced their list of "10 Dream Trips to Asia in 2025," and Vietnam has impressively made it onto the list.
Lonely Planet doesn't hesitate to call Asia "the land of vivid dream trips." Indeed, this vast continent is like a giant painting, a melting pot of wonders, ready to conquer the heart of any traveler. From the magnificent palaces of India, where you can wander into the world of One Thousand and One Nights fairy tales, to the mysterious rainforests of Borneo, where you can explore one of the world's richest and most diverse ecosystems. And if you're an adventure enthusiast, the majestic peaks of Nepal will be the ideal destination to challenge yourself and admire the awe-inspiring beauty of the Himalayas.
Vietnam has the honor of being included in the list of 10 dream destinations in Asia in 2025, as selected by the prestigious Australian travel magazine Lonely Planet.
"Hanoi is a city that remains charmingly young," Lonely Planet observes. The prestigious publication suggests that visitors begin their journey in the heart of the country, where ancient temples are nestled among winding streets, bearing the marks of time, and from there, they can explore the fascinating surrounding areas.
The cultural capital is a top destination for all tourists.
During the first two days of the 10-day journey, visitors will immerse themselves in the ancient atmosphere of Hanoi, strolling along moss-covered streets, admiring the mystical Hoan Kiem Lake, visiting the Temple of Literature - the first "university" of Vietnam - a symbol of the Vietnamese people's studious spirit, enjoying the rich flavor of egg coffee, and discovering the unique beauty of the 36 streets of the Old Quarter.
After experiencing the vibrant life of the capital city, tourists will continue their journey to Ha Long Bay – a UNESCO World Heritage site. Here, visitors will admire a stunning "ink painting" with thousands of limestone islands rising above the turquoise waters. Ha Long Bay is not only a world natural heritage site but also an endless source of inspiration for artists and photographers.

Returning to Hanoi, travelers will take an overnight train to Lao Cai, the gateway to Sa Pa – a charming, misty town with magnificent terraced rice fields, colorful ethnic villages, and the majestic Fansipan peak, the "roof of Indochina". Sa Pa is not only an ideal destination for those who love trekking and exploring nature, but also a place for tourists to learn about the unique culture of ethnic minorities.

For the last three days of the trip, travelers can choose one of two paths: explore the northern mountainous region by visiting Ha Giang, a land where "even rocks bloom" with its treacherous mountain passes, majestic mountain ranges, and ethnic minority villages hidden in the clouds. Or, they can experience a legendary journey: traveling by the Thong Nhat train to central Vietnam, visiting the ancient capital of Hue with its unique cultural heritage and admiring the ancient beauty of Hoi An.
Also in its article, the magazine suggests other exciting trips in Asia, such as a romantic journey exploring forts and palaces in India. Begin a two-week journey through Delhi's bustling markets and Mughal forts, mosques, and tombs; admire the majesty of the City Palace, Hawa Mahal, the Amber Palace, and the unique royal observatory of Jai Singh II; explore Jodhpur, where you can get lost in the labyrinthine Brahminblue streets surrounding Mehrangarh Fort.
Many landmarks in Asia are mentioned in the list.
Or, if you're a nature lover, you can head to Borneo to admire its rainbow wildlife. The easiest place to step into this lost world of emerald green foliage and cocoa-brown rivers is Sarawak in Malaysia. Around the multicultural Kuching, seven rainforest reserves offer a wide variety of wildlife and wild animals, including almost certain encounters with proboscis monkeys in Bako National Park.
When traveling to Asia, you can't ignore the irresistible allure of its cuisine. That's why the best trips are always guided by taste. And in Singapore and Malaysia, every snack stop is a feast, and every street corner is a feast. Traveling along the Malay Peninsula is one of Asia's most amazing culinary journeys. Pick up your chopsticks in Singapore, and you'll encounter hawker stalls overflowing with Malay soups and stir-fries, Chinese banquet halls brimming with dim sum, and Indian canteens fragrant with cardamom, cumin, and coriander.
