First impressions
Just an hour's flight from Ho Chi Minh City, our group arrived at Phu Cat Airport on a clear afternoon. In the gentle sunshine of Quy Nhon, the staff of Maia Resort Quy Nhon, in their bright uniforms, greeted us with friendly smiles.
I don't know the name or remember the appearance of the staff member, but their warm smile and welcoming words, spoken in a distinctly Central Vietnamese accent, immediately made us feel approachable and warm, like someone who has been away for a long time but feels safe and secure in the joyful welcome of loved ones returning home. In an instant, this seemingly unfamiliar seaside city became close and warm to us on our first encounter.

In less than 20 minutes by car, we arrived at Maia Resort Quy Nhon. What immediately caught our eye was the lush greenery of the resort on one side, and the vast wind farm and gently sloping sand dunes on the other.
The design style is sophisticated and reflects local culture.
We chose the Garden Pool Villa type room with a private pool and lush surrounding gardens. Unlike other resorts we've stayed at with their elaborate room details, Maia Resort Quy Nhon aims for a refined and simple style, without being overly ornate but still luxurious and fully equipped.
Instead, each patch of greenery is meticulously cared for and becomes a highlight of the entire resort. Here and there, local details are subtly incorporated into the design style. A mural created from the leftover pieces of wood from an old fishing boat, or exquisitely handcrafted ceramic vases, captivated our attention.

During our two days in Quy Nhon, we dedicated one day to visiting Ky Co and Eo Gió. From Maia Resort Quy Nhon, it only takes about 15 minutes to reach these famous landmarks. True to its reputation as "the most beautiful sunset viewing spot in Vietnam," Eo Gió gifted us a stunning album of photos as a keepsake. On the second day, we decided to relax at the hotel, simply doing nothing to enjoy the best that Maia Resort Quy Nhon has to offer and recharge ourselves.
Peace is when you can enjoy delicious food.
It's often said that the shortest way to win someone over is through their stomach. Maia Resort Quy Nhon truly captivated us with its dishes, preparation methods, and presentation that charmed every diner. Even now, I can still remember every dish from that dinner at the restaurant. From authentic Vietnamese dishes elevated by sophisticated preparation, to European dishes like pizza and pasta infused with touches of Vietnamese cuisine, everything reminded us of delicious, home-cooked meals filled with warmth and care.

Marc, the Canadian general manager, appeared at the restaurant and greeted us warmly. Even with just a short conversation, we could sense his love for Vietnamese cuisine and his passion for creating unique culinary experiences. While introducing the dishes, Marc kept telling us with enthusiasm and a touch of pride: “Everything is freshly made in Quy Nhon and Vietnam” – all the dishes are prepared directly from the freshest local ingredients, sourced from early morning fish markets or hillside farms.


With their dedicated service and the warm, genuine smiles emanating from every staff member and manager, we felt like we were no longer "guests," but rather returning home, pampered, and enjoying delicious dishes that perfectly suited our tastes.
Tourism in Vietnam, like the world, is facing many great challenges, but with creative and dedicated tourism practices, and especially with love for and refined culinary experiences, I believe that Maia Resort Quy Nhon, despite being newly launched, will win over many tourists as a peaceful haven to return to.
