2nd ASEAN Music Festival

This year's festival, titled ASEAN Pride - Celebrating Diversity, will be held on May 24, 2014, featuring live music performances and food and drinks throughout the event, in a beautiful open-air setting in the heart of Hanoi: the American Club, 19-21 Hai Ba Trung Street.

The festival will feature renowned bands from ASEAN countries, as well as artists and community groups in Hanoi. With the participation of bands such as Protocol Afro (Indonesia), Big Bag (Myanmar), The Pinholes (Singapore), and Stylish Nonsense (Thailand), along with many talented Vietnamese artists, the event will be a unique opportunity for audiences to learn about ASEAN Pride and the culture of Vietnamese youth. The festival also includes the Hanoi Flea Market, a creative art fair, a space for artists, and a children's play area.

Besides promoting cultural exchange among the peoples of Southeast Asia, the festival aims to raise awareness of ASEAN Pride. The United States is committed to removing barriers to equality, ending discrimination based on sexual orientation and gender identity, and uniting lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) communities. The United States is committed to taking action to bring about a brighter future for every individual, including equal rights for the LGBT community. Secretary of State John Kerry has consistently affirmed that promoting LGBT issues abroad is "central" to U.S. efforts. This is a crucial issue because it affirms fundamental freedoms – everyone can be proud of themselves, regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity.

The ASEAN Pride Festival will take place from 13:00 to 24:00 on Saturday, May 24th.
