Asian Food and Culture Festival in Hanoi and Ha Long

On April 12th, the official press conference for the major event, the Mon Asian Food Festival (MAFF 2018), was held at the Pullman Hanoi Hotel. This festival, the first of its kind in Hanoi and Ha Long, will take place in April 2018. This meaningful series of events, with its strong community and humanitarian focus, caters to a wide range of individuals and families, marking the beginning of a vibrant summer in 2018.

Scheduled to take place from April 20-22, 2018 at Mon City My Dinh, Hanoi and from April 27-29, 2018 at 30/10 Square, Ha Long City, Quang Ninh Province, this series of events aims to celebrate the "National Tourism Year 2018" with the theme "Ha Long Heritage, Wonder – A Friendly Destination". The Mon Asian Food Festival 2018 (MAFF 2018) is organized to honor the essence and diversity of cuisine as well as the cultural characteristics of countries in the Asian region. The festival will feature culinary and tourism ambassadors, cultural and artistic delegations from Vietnam and other Asian countries including Japan, South Korea, Myanmar... along with the participation of many singers, artists, DJs and leading culinary experts from Vietnam and internationally. The program is expected to attract 30,000 participants daily in Hanoi and 500,000 in Ha Long.

 

 

With the desire to create a truly attractive and engaging festival with activities worthy of an international festival, many programs have been developed to serve individuals and families in Hanoi, Ha Long, neighboring provinces, and Vietnamese and international tourists, promising an incredibly exciting start to a vibrant and fiery summer.

International culinary star Martin Yan from the popular show "Yan Can Cook"

 

Taking place at Mon City My Dinh, 2 Le Duc Tho Street, My Dinh Ward, Nam Tu Liem District, Hanoi, the program will start at 10:00 AM daily with dance and magic performances by international art troupes. In addition, there will be bartender shows, cooking demonstrations by star chef Vo Quoc and chef Hai Anh, and a special appearance by international celebrity chef Martin Yan with his famous "Yan Can Cook" show. Three nights of the program will also feature music performances by many leading singers and groups such as My Tam, Duc Phuc, Hoa Minzy, Huynh Tien, Dinh Manh Ninh, Hoang Yen Chibi, Sambi, S Girl, Pocket Girl... With over 100 food stalls from many countries, attendees will have the opportunity to enjoy a wide variety of unique and famous dishes from different cuisines.

Asian Food and Culture Festival in Ha Long (April 27-29, 2018)

 

Taking place at 30/10 Square, Tran Quoc Nghien Street, Hong Hai Ward, Ha Long City, this event is considered a colorful festival on the scale of an international festival. Over three days, the festival will bring much joy to young people and families. Adventure-loving youth can fly in hot air balloons to admire the festival from above, or participate in the MonRun color run to contribute to the "Vietnam Agent Orange/Dioxin Victims Fund".

Besides cooking demonstrations by chefs, live cooking demonstrations of delicious family meals on stage, and bartender performances, there will be many cultural activities showcasing the unique identities of various ethnic groups from neighboring countries. Over three nights, the vibrant program will feature performances by the "brown-haired nightingale" My Tam, famous DJ Markus Schulz, and singers and bands such as Duong Edward, Yanbi, OnlyC, Karik, BB star, and more. In Ha Long, over 100 food stalls will also introduce visitors to the "national dishes" of many countries around the world.

 

Expected to be a spectacular event, setting a new standard for festivals, the organizing committee has developed a program that fully embodies the colors, characteristics, and activities of an international-level festival. Therefore, this year's festival will offer many new experiences for visitors.

 

MonRun Colorful Race

 

As the most meaningful and humane activity in the 2018 Asian Food and Culture Festival, the MonRun colorful race for those who love exercise and music will take place at 4:00 PM on April 29, 2018. Participants in the MonRun race will receive a kit including a MonRun t-shirt and two colored bags to throw along the race route. The MonRun kit will be distributed during the event days in Hanoi and Ha Long. In addition, a donation box will be placed outside the MonRun information booth for the Vietnam Association of Victims of Agent Orange/Dioxin. Participants can donate at the MonRun information booth or on the official website using the MonPay e-wallet and by scanning the MonRun QR code on the official website (monrun.vn).

 

 

The Mon Run is a 3km race divided into 5 stages, each featuring exciting and fun activities at 5 stations colored red, pink, yellow, blue, and green. A special treat for those who complete the Mon Run is access to the VIP area of ​​the nighttime EDM music event, promising unforgettable experiences on one of the most beautiful routes in Ha Long Bay.

 

At the Asian Food and Culture Festival, to minimize the risks associated with cash transactions for festival attendees, all transactions and payments at the festival's booths will be cashless.
