In 2014, the Ho Chi Minh City Ao Dai Festival attracted 50,000 visitors, 41,835 in 2015, 50,678 in 2016, and 70,000 in 2017. The increasing number of visitors over the four years shows that the Ho Chi Minh City Ao Dai Festival is becoming a distinctive cultural tourism product of Ho Chi Minh City, attracting the attention of a large number of domestic and international tourists.

Ho Chi Minh City is a dynamic city, home to a large number of designers and tailors, especially those specializing in the design and tailoring of Ao Dai (Vietnamese traditional dress), with renowned brands that have been famous for decades. Famous fabric markets are also concentrated in Ho Chi Minh City, providing a rich source of materials for creating beautiful and unique Ao Dai. In particular, with tens of millions of inhabitants, numerous offices, runways, and stages, the frequent appearance of the Ao Dai in everyday life and important events has affirmed the firm position of this traditional national costume in the hearts of the city's people and is also a highlight of tourism in Ho Chi Minh City.
The 5th Ao Dai Festival in 2018 featured many unique activities, both in scale and with innovative changes. This year's festival received active participation from22 Ao Dai designersLeading designers, not only in Ho Chi Minh City but throughout the country, converged at the festival's events, showcasing over 1200 creative designs, filled with passion and love for the Ao Dai and this year's festival.
