The festival aims to honor and preserve the traditional cultural identity of the Vietnamese Ao Dai; introduce to tourists and the public the image of the Vietnamese Ao Dai through each period throughout the history of the Vietnamese people; create an environment for cultural exchange between the public and famous Vietnamese Ao Dai designers and artisans through unique Ao Dai artworks.
Ao Dai Charming Contest 2014
This is also an activity to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2015). The festival has the participation of more than 40 units, businesses, designers - Ao Dai artisans, long-standing Ao Dai brands in Ho Chi Minh City. The opening and closing ceremonies will be held with unique rituals and a very special Ao Dai art performance program by young designers, aiming to introduce the Ao Dai festival widely to tourists nationwide, honoring the image of Ao Dai - Vietnam's national costume.
In addition, the War Remnants Museum, the Southern Women's Museum, and the Ao Dai Museum will organize many exhibitions and discussions on the topic of Ao Dai such as: discussion on Vietnamese Women's Ao Dai through the Fire of War, discussion on how to wear Ao Dai beautifully... In addition, the program has many sideline activities such as a contest for drawing Ao Dai on paper, a beautiful photo contest, and a contest for Charming Ao Dai.
