The uniqueness of the festival, dedicated exclusively to two types of flowers – Japanese cherry blossoms and Yen Tu yellow apricot blossoms – during the spring days in Yen Tu, the Buddhist capital of Vietnam, is one of the major events in response to the 2018 National Tourism Year - Ha Long - Quang Ninh, organized by Uong Bi City.

The unique feature of the festival is dedicated exclusively to two types of flowers: Japanese cherry blossoms and Yen Tu yellow apricot blossoms. This is one of the major events in response to the 2018 National Tourism Year - Ha Long - Quang Ninh, organized by Uong Bi City. It is expected to display approximately 5,000 cherry blossom branches, 50 Japanese cherry blossom trees, and 120 Yen Tu yellow apricot blossom trees. The cherry blossoms are imported from abroad, while the Yen Tu yellow apricot blossoms are mainly supplied by nurseries in Uong Bi City and Dong Trieu Town (Quang Ninh).
The festival is themed “Cooperation and Development - A Destination for Success”. Within the framework of the program, there will be an artistic exchange between Japanese and Vietnamese artists with the theme “Yen Tu – A Place Where Heritage Converges and Fragrances Spread,” showcasing some aspects of traditional Japanese culture. Along with the flower exhibition, the organizers plan to create an additional highlight through the design and display of a three-dimensional floral model, made from various plants and fresh flowers, with the theme “Yen Tu, the Sacred Mountain”.
