At the press conference on the afternoon of February 7 introducing the "Bulgaria and Friends Rose Festival", Bulgarian Ambassador to Vietnam, Mr. Evgueni Stoychev, said that for the first time, the traditional rose festival of Bulgaria will be held in Vietnam. The event will take place from Bulgaria's National Day on March 3 to International Women's Day on March 8.

The festival will bring together more than 300 species of roses representing roses from around the world, including purebred European and Bulgarian roses, turning Thong Nhat Island in Thong Nhat Park in Hanoi into a rose paradise.
Coming to the festival, visitors will be able to admire the 6,000 m2 "Rose Island" with rose art masterpieces such as the castle of love, the dating wall, the rose garden of love, and the ancient wishing well.
According to the Bulgarian Embassy’s Commercial Counselor, Mr. Daniel Dobrev, the festival also introduces the culinary essence of roses from Bulgaria, unique rose-inspired souvenirs and products made from rose essential oil. Mr. Dobrev hopes that this event will be held annually in Vietnam.
At the opening ceremony of the rose festival, Bulgaria will donate its most precious rose varieties to Hanoi.
Mr. Nguyen Duc Lien, head of the festival organizing committee, said that the organizing committee will coordinate with the security force of Thong Nhat Park, Hai Ba Trung district police and professional security companies to ensure security.

He hopes the event will attract about 10,000 - 20,000 visitors. The organizers will issue tickets and control by day, tickets will be sold at the festival gate, if there is a time when the number of visitors in the festival is too high, ticket sales will stop until the number of visitors is less to ensure the safety of visitors.
Mr. Lien also said that many Vietnamese and international artisans volunteered to contribute roses to the festival, including a foreign artisan who contributed 300 roses from all over the world, preserved in a cold box, which can be kept for 5 years.
This is a long-standing traditional festival of Bulgaria, held since 1903 and has become an event that attracts millions of tourists worldwide. Vietnam is not the first country where the festival is held outside of Bulgaria, but it is the place where the festival is held on the largest scale.
