Dalat cherry blossom has the scientific name Prunus Cesacoides. The trunk has a peach-plum shape (belonging to the genus Prunus) but the flower is a single 5-petal flower like the apricot blossom (belonging to the genus Cerasus). Therefore, the name "cherry blossom" for this flower of Dalat was born.
At the beginning of the dry season, that is, every November, the yellow leaves of the Mai Anh Dao gradually fall off. The branches are bare and dormant. When the weather changes in mid-January, the tree "awakens". Blooming signals the arrival of spring. The flowers often bloom simultaneously, densely packed from the base to the top, very impressive.
