02/06/2016

Ho Chi Minh City residents will have the opportunity to experience New Zealand right in the heart of the city this weekend, as the festival celebrates the first direct flights connecting Auckland and Vietnam by Air New Zealand.

The Experience New Zealand Festival will be held from June 2 to 4 on Nguyen Hue Street and is expected to attract thousands of attendees. City residents will have the opportunity to experience New Zealand wineries in virtual reality, taste New Zealand food and drinks, learn about studying in New Zealand and take photos with New Zealand's famous landmarks.

New Zealand Consul General – Mr. Tony Martin shared: "We are pleased to be able to celebrate the growing relationship between New Zealand and Vietnam."

“Vietnam is New Zealand’s fastest growing export market. This growth is continuing, especially with the market segment looking for opportunities to study in a leading international education environment; delicious, safe, traceable and high-quality food and beverages,” Mr. Martin added.

Vietnam is the second country in Southeast Asia with the number of international students studying in New Zealand, with more than 2,000 Vietnamese students studying in New Zealand.

The opening ceremony will be held at 6:00 pm on June 2, with special guest and MC Nguyen Khang. Afterwards, the fair will be open twice daily, from 7:30 - 9:30 and 17:30 - 21:30 from June 3 to 4, 2016. The fair is free to enter.
