Attending the scholarship awarding ceremony were Mr. Bui Van Linh - Deputy Director in charge of the Department of Political Education and Student Affairs; Ms. Lee Mi Yeon - Consul General, Deputy Ambassador of Korea in Vietnam; Mr. Lee Jung Wook - Vice President of Lotte Scholarship Fund; Mr. Lim Sung Bok, General Director of Lotte Hotel Hanoi; Mr. Kim Jong Min - Deputy General Director of Lotte Coralis Vietnam Co., Ltd.; Mr. Eom Sun Woong - General Director of Lotte Department Store; Mr. Lee Jun Kyu - Financial Director of Lotte Department Store, Associate Professor Dr. Bui Anh Tuan - Principal of Foreign Trade University along with vice principals, teachers and students receiving scholarships.
At the 21st Scholarship Awarding Ceremony, Lotte scholarships were awarded to 78 students from 8 universities in Hanoi including: Hanoi National University (University of Foreign Languages, University of Economics, University of Social Sciences and Humanities), Hanoi University, Foreign Trade University, Hanoi University of Science and Technology, University of Construction, National Economics University, Academy of Finance, Thang Long University. Many of them are students who have made efforts to overcome difficult family circumstances to achieve excellent academic achievements at the University. Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Lim Sung Bok - General Director of Lotte Hotel Hanoi hoped that this would be the motivation to help students realize their ambitions in life, and he also did not forget to send a message to the students: "If you set a clear goal for yourself, always determined to follow the path you have chosen with a passionate and foolish heart, you will certainly achieve your goal. I will always support you." On behalf of the scholarship recipients, Associate Professor, Dr. Bui Anh Tuan - Principal of Foreign Trade University, Hanoi and Cao Nguyen Cuong, a student of Foreign Trade University, sent their sincere thanks for the attention that Lotte Group's Board of Directors has given to the young generation of Vietnam, helping to give wings to the dreams of students from difficult family circumstances.
The Lotte Scholarship Awarding Ceremony, which is held twice a year, is a symbol of the good friendship between Korea and Vietnam, and also demonstrates Lotte Group's desire to contribute to community activities and social responsibility. At the same time, the group's leaders also hope that today's excellent graduates will be the next generation to join Lotte Group's subsidiaries in the near future.
The Lotte Foundation was established in 1983, awarded to students with difficult family circumstances but who have overcome them to achieve high results in study and research. In 2008, the "Lotte Foundation" scholarship fund came to Vietnam and with meaningful scholarships, the Foundation has become a trusted companion for students of elite universities in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City. In the future, Lotte Group promises to pay more attention and invest in the country's young talents.
