With a special guest from Germany, the Festival is sure to offer a wide variety of programmes. The official opening will take place on September 6 in Hanoi. The latest and most popular German films will be screened in Hanoi, Da Nang, Hue and Ho Chi Minh City.
The Goethe-Institut presents to the audience more than 30 original German film screenings with Vietnamese and English subtitles or Vietnamese dubbing. These are all successful films that have achieved high box office revenue, as well as films that have been honored to be introduced at the Berlin International Film Festival and other prestigious film festivals.

The German films presented at the 2015 Festival dealt with historical themes, contemporary topics such as the power of digital media, as well as differences in tradition and culture. This year’s German Film Festival in Vietnam has chosen to bring to the audience 8 outstanding films by award-winning directors and with the participation of famous actors from Germany.

Opening movie“Super hackers – no system is safe”is a dramatic thriller about a group of computer hackers' clash with a dangerous Russian gang, which leaves them hunted by European cyber police.

Two of the films released this year tell the sad story of young boys who are suddenly forced to fend for themselves: After running away from an orphanage, 10-year-old Jack and his younger brother embark on a dangerous and uncertain journey through Berlin. In the film "Run, boy!”, Oscar-winning director Pepe Danquart brings to life the true story of an eight-year-old refugee boy who fled the Warsaw ghetto and stayed one step ahead of his pursuers for three years through his incredible courage and survival instinct.
