Outstanding Swedish films will be presented to the Hanoi public at the Swedish Film Festival, taking place from October 3-5.

This event commemorates the 45th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Sweden. The film festival focuses on popular and well-loved films, promising to bring Hanoi audiences the best films from the Swedish film industry. From the hit film Easy Money, depicting an organized crime world in Stockholm, to the Oscar-winning story of the forgotten music phenomenon Rodriguez in Searching for Sugar Man.

Ambassador Camilla Mellander of Sweden stated, “Film lovers in Hanoi will have a unique opportunity to embark on a cultural journey with beloved Swedish films from over the years.” According to the organizers, except for the film Palme, which will be screened at 7 PM on October 3rd and requires an invitation, the remaining films – The Black Pimpernel, Easy Money, Show Me Love, Tzvetanka, and Searching for Sugar Man – are free to attend. All films have Vietnamese subtitles.

At the screenings, the organizers will also serve and introduce to moviegoers a traditional Swedish pastry: cinnamon rolls. The films will be open to the public free of charge in Hanoi at Cinematheque, 22A Hai Ba Trung Street.
