Outstanding Swedish films will be introduced to the Hanoi public at the Swedish Film Festival taking place from October 3-5.

This is an activity to celebrate the 45th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Sweden. The film festival focuses on popular and widely loved films, promising to bring Hanoi audiences the best films from the Swedish film industry. From the blockbuster Easy Money, depicting the world of organized crime in Stockholm to the Oscar-winning story of forgotten music phenomenon Rodriguez in Searching for Sugar Man.

Ms. Camilla Mellander, Ambassador of Sweden, said, “Cinema lovers in Hanoi will have a unique opportunity to take part in a cultural journey with Swedish films that have been loved over the years.” According to the Organizing Committee, except for the film Palme shown at 7 p.m. on October 3, which requires an invitation to watch, the remaining films, The Black Pimpernel, Easy Money, Show Me Love, Tzvetanka and Searching for Sugar Man, are all free to enter. All films have Vietnamese subtitles.


During the screenings, the Organizing Committee will also serve and introduce to moviegoers the traditional Swedish cake, cinnamon rolls. The films will be open to the public in Hanoi at the Cinematheque, 22A Hai Ba Trung.
