To celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of Southern Vietnam and the reunification of the country (April 30, 1975 – April 30, 2025), Quang Binh province will organize a series of vibrant cultural and tourism events to serve local people and tourists during the upcoming holiday.
A highlight of this year's events is the "Legend Fest in Dong Hoi" seaside music festival, taking place from April 30th to May 4th at Bao Ninh 1 Urban Area (Dong Hoi City). The event brings together many renowned domestic artists, promising a vibrant and diverse entertainment experience. In particular, on the opening night of April 30th, a 10-minute low-altitude fireworks display will be held, adding to the festive atmosphere on the beach.

Simultaneously, the Dong Hoi Culture and Tourism Week 2025 will officially open with many unique artistic activities. The highlight of the week is the stage performance "Dong Hoi - Roses and the Sea," taking place on the evening of May 1st at Bao Ninh Beach Square. Cultural experiences, local cuisine, and displays of specialty products will also be organized throughout the week, providing opportunities for visitors to explore the land and people of Quang Binh in greater depth.
In the Phong Nha - Ke Bang area, Bo Trach district has also planned to organize many events showcasing the local cultural identity. On the morning of April 28th, a folk dance festival will take place at the Monument to the Youth Volunteers, bringing together teams from nine communes and towns. On the same day, in the evening, a cultural performance at Xuan Son ferry terminal will feature folk performances by amateur art troupes.
One of the most anticipated events is the traditional boat race on the Son River, held on the morning of April 29th, with the participation of 10 men's teams and 3 women's teams from various localities in the district. At the same time, the Son River carp fishing competition will take place, including a fish catching and cooking contest, aiming to promote one of the region's signature specialties.

In addition to cultural events, Quang Binh also offers a series of nature-exploring tours suitable for extended holidays. 3-day, 2-night itineraries take visitors to Phong Nha Cave – known as the “paradise underground,” to relax at Bang Onsen hot springs, or to pay respects at the tomb of General Vo Nguyen Giap in Vung Chua – Yen Island. Da Nhay Beach, with its unique natural rock formations and fine white sand, is also an ideal destination for relaxation and photography.
