The Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam has just sent a document to domestic airlines about their operation plans during the National Day holiday on September 2. The agency requires airlines to proactively coordinate with travel agencies to develop programs and plans to operate to key tourism localities and countries, in order to enhance domestic and international tourism activities.
According to a survey on the websites of Vietnamese airlines, ticket prices for domestic flights during the peak period from August 30 to September 4 have all increased, especially for the routes Ho Chi Minh City - Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City - Da Nang and Ho Chi Minh City - Phu Quoc, with prices ranging from 1.7 - 2.1 million VND/ticket/way.
Flight tickets to hot destinations are increasing in price during this year's September 2nd holiday.
The Hanoi - Da Nang route from August 29 to September 1 has the same ticket price as a week ago. The ticket price for early morning or late evening flights is around 3 million VND. The price for the good time slot during the holiday is around 3.8 million VND, the same price as a week ago.
On the Hanoi - Da Nang route, on September 2, Vietravel Airlines still has flights with the lowest fare of 1.8 million VND/way. The remaining flights of Vietjet, Bamboo Airways and Vietnam Airlines have fares from more than 2 million VND/way. The highest are flights departing from noon to early afternoon of Vietnam Airlines, with fares of 2.6 million VND/way.
According to ticket office data of Viet Travel Media Joint Stock Company, round-trip airfare from Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City to major domestic tourist destinations during the September 2 holiday increased by about 10-20% compared to the low season of domestic tourism, starting from mid-August, depending on booking time, flight time, and airline.
The Civil Aviation Authority requires airlines to proactively coordinate with travel businesses in building programs.
A survey of airfare prices on airline websites on August 15 showed that airfares from Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City to tourist destinations during the September 2 holiday have increased compared to normal days, with some flights even recording ticket prices nearly doubling compared to normal days.
Considering that airfares for the September 2 holiday are still higher than normal days, they are more affordable than during the peak summer tourist season. Accordingly, the Civil Aviation Authority requires airlines to proactively coordinate with travel agencies in developing programs and plans to exploit key tourism localities and countries to support, promote and enhance domestic and international tourism activities.
Airlines coordinate with ground service providers to develop plans to serve flights, especially flights at night; support and create conditions for airlines to maintain and stabilize maximum rates and frequencies of operations, ensuring full safety conditions and operational capacity.
