Recently, the People's Committee of Kon Plông district announced exciting news: Kon Tum province has officially approved the plan to plant one million cherry blossom trees in Măng Đen town. This is not just a simple tree-planting project, but a strategic step to create a beautiful landscape, promote tourism, and develop Măng Đen into a unique and attractive "cherry blossom town."
Mang Den, with its cool climate year-round and pristine natural beauty, has long been a favorite destination for many tourists. However, with this new initiative, Mang Den will undergo a transformation, donning a vibrant new look.
Mang Den is witnessing the tireless efforts of the local government and people to transform it into a "cherry blossom town".
One million cherry blossom trees – an impressive number, enough to transform Mang Den into a "kingdom" of this flower. When spring arrives, the entire town will be bathed in the delicate pink hues of cherry blossoms, creating a beautiful and romantic scene. Visitors will be immersed in this dreamy atmosphere, enjoying the fresh air and admiring the pristine beauty of this characteristic flower.
Beyond simply creating a beautiful landscape, the cherry blossom development project also aims to boost tourism. With its unique and captivating beauty, Mang Den promises to attract an increasing number of domestic and international tourists. Visitors come here not only to admire the flowers but also to explore traditional cultural values, enjoy local specialties, and experience exciting tourist activities.
Mang Den aims to plant 1 million cherry blossom trees.
According to Mr. Pham Van Thang, Vice Chairman of the Kon Plong District People's Committee, in recent years, Mang Den town has welcomed thousands of tourists during the cherry blossom season. This not only promotes the development of local tourism but also helps people earn extra income from related activities such as recreation, sightseeing, and relaxation.
“This year's Lunar New Year coincided with the peak cherry blossom season, and Mang Den town welcomed approximately 230,000 visitors, generating an estimated revenue of 80 billion VND. In the coming time, the district government and tourism businesses will coordinate with local people to actively plant more cherry blossom trees at various locations in the town. This will focus on the town's main roads, parks, squares, and public spaces,” Mr. Thang emphasized.
This not only promotes local tourism but also helps people earn extra income from related activities such as recreation, sightseeing, and relaxation.
To date, the entire town of Mang Den has planted approximately 400,000 cherry blossom trees. Besides tourist attractions, restaurants, hotels, and community tourism villages, the area is now covered in the pink blossoms of cherry blossoms. Therefore, the goal of planting 1 million cherry blossom trees in the near future is entirely feasible.
According to leaders of Kon Plông district, for many years, the district's Agricultural Services Center has been independently breeding and supplying cherry blossom saplings for planting in public places and for individuals and businesses.
Cherry blossoms are now considered a symbol and a major tourist attraction in Mang Den.
With this policy, the cherry blossom planting area can be expanded to hilly areas, barren land around the town, and in the gardens of local people.
The results from the trial planting phase have proven something extremely important and promising: the climate and soil conditions of Mang Den are perfectly suited for the growth and development of cherry blossom trees.
The remarkable adaptation of cherry blossoms to the Mang Den region has opened up a great opportunity to organize an annual cherry blossom festival. This festival is not only an occasion for tourists to admire the vibrant beauty of this characteristic flower, but also a chance to promote the image and attract visitors to explore Mang Den.
