The chrysanthemum season - winter is approaching.
Chrysanthemums typically bloom in late October and early November, lasting until the end of December. As the first chilly winds of winter arrive, the sight of vendors carrying baskets of pristine white chrysanthemums through Hanoi's streets evokes a distinct winter atmosphere. This is also when the flower gardens in the West Lake Flower Valley become ideal destinations for locals and tourists alike to admire the pure beauty of this flower.
Located in Tay Ho District, the West Lake Flower Valley covers a vast area of 3 hectares, with approximately 70% dedicated to growing various types of flowers. The chrysanthemum garden here, spanning about 5,000 m², is a special highlight that attracts many locals and tourists to visit and take photos.

The flower valley attracts many tourists who come to admire its beauty.
Due to the impact of Typhoon Yagi in September, this year's chrysanthemum season is later than usual. Many flower gardens along the Red River bank were damaged after the storm and flooding. Although the water receded quickly, the garden owners did not have time to replant the flowers so that the chrysanthemums would bloom on schedule. Thanks to its location within the dike, the flower valley was only slightly affected and maintained a consistent bloom, although the blooming time was 2-3 weeks later than usual. Instead of starting to wither at the end of November, this is the time when the flowers are at their most vibrant, creating a poetic and captivating scene.
The pristine beauty of daisies
Chrysanthemums are known as the "flowers of winter," but getting these beautiful white flowers to bloom on time requires a great deal of effort from growers. They are usually sown in July and only begin to bloom in November. During cultivation, gardeners must use netting to shield the plants from sunlight, ensuring they grow healthily and bloom at the right time.

Daisies possess a simple beauty that few other flowers can match. With their small, upright stems, pristine white petals, and shimmering golden centers, these flowers bloom most beautifully in the sunlight. Each flower is only about 3-4cm in diameter, but when clustered together, daisies create a vibrant and lively natural scene.
Although daisies come in many different colors such as white, pink, yellow, and red, white remains the top choice because it symbolizes purity and innocence. This flower not only beautifies Hanoi's winter but also becomes a source of inspiration for many art lovers, from photography to poetry.

Chrysanthemums have a relatively short lifespan, only about 2-3 weeks. Therefore, photographing and admiring them usually takes place within a brief period, making many people eager to enjoy the moment when the flowers are at their most vibrant.
Besides daisies, the West Lake flower valley also grows many other flowers such as purple lavender, chrysanthemums, petunias, impatiens, and butterfly flowers, creating a vibrant and colorful space perfect for flower lovers and photography enthusiasts. Currently, other flower beds in the garden are also blooming simultaneously, enriching the experience for visitors.
The West Lake Flower Valley is located at the intersection of Nhat Chieu and Nhat Tan streets in Tay Ho district, Hanoi. Visitors can come here to admire the beauty of daisies and other flowers, and relax in the fresh air.
