Factors such as properly dried volcanic ash soil, warm temperatures throughout the year, and significant day-night temperature differences are all crucial for growing delicious melons. Ibaraki Prefecture is the only place that meets all these conditions and has the highest melon production in the country, accounting for approximately 26%.

May and June are the season for Ibaraki Melon, heralding the beginning of summer. With plenty of melons prepared right at the orchards, join us for a rare "Melon Hunt" event, a unique experience even in Japan.

Melons in Ibaraki are grown in enclosed greenhouses. The most interesting thing is that during the melon season, the scent of melons fills the air. Here, you can participate in the melon harvest and even take home the harvested melons. Forest Park, Melon no Mori, usually holds two harvest seasons: "spring/summer harvest" and "autumn harvest," so you can enjoy harvesting melons for an extended period. In addition, there are products made from the melons grown in the garden, such as "Melon nama cream puffs" or "Melon-flavored ice cream."

If you want to buy melons as gifts for friends and relatives, you can visit Melon no Mori garden. This is a direct sales location. The period is from mid-May to the end of October.
