In order to meet the increasing demand for foreign travel this winter, Korean airline Jeju Air said it plans to open a number of new non-scheduled routes from local airports to several Southeast Asian countries.

In the airline's official announcement, from December 29, 2017 to February 2018, low-cost airline Jeju Air will open a number of additional non-regularly scheduled flights from Jeju International Airport to destinations including Da Nang (Vietnam), Manila (Philippines) and Chiang Mai (Thailand).

Jeju Air also said it is opening additional routes between January 4, 2018 and February 25, 2018 from Cheongju International Airport to Bangkok (Thailand), Taipei (Taiwan - China) and Ulan Bator (Mongolia).

Jeju Air representative said that the airline is planning to increase the number of aircraft from 31 currently to 39 by the end of next year. The Boeing 737-800 with 189 seats will be leased by the airline to improve the quality of service for flights from Jeju Island to Southeast Asian countries.
