Industrial Revolution 4.0 - Opportunities and Challenges for the Aviation Industry
The Fourth Industrial Revolution has brought and will continue to bring new life to the global civil aviation industry by providing passengers with exciting experiences on flights. Vietnam is no exception. According to assessments, Vietnam will soon become one of the world's leading aviation markets.
Dr. Tran Quang Chau, President of the Vietnam Aviation Science and Technology Association, delivered a speech at the conference.
At the conference, experts argued that the Fourth Industrial Revolution in the aviation sector brings many favorable opportunities, but also presents many challenges, such as: the workforce must be extensively and thoroughly trained in technology; the management team must be true experts in many systems, both on the ground and on board aircraft. Investing early and promptly in advanced infrastructure and ensuring efficient operation to take advantage of the many benefits of the Fourth Industrial Revolution will be a significant challenge.
Dr. Dong, Deputy Minister of Planning and Investment, Dr. Duong Manh Cuong (AUV University), and Dr. Tran Quang Chau, President of the Vietnam Aviation Science and Technology Association, at the Workshop.
Through discussions, several solutions were proposed for the development of Vietnam's aviation industry in the context of the Fourth Industrial Revolution:
- The aviation industry, as well as aviation corporations and conglomerates, need to strengthen training and education on Industry 4.0 systems for their management team and specialized flight operations workforce.
- The civil aviation industry needs a research and development agency (especially for applied research) in order to achieve a certain degree of autonomy in this field.
- Written government authorization is needed to regulate the onboard navigation system based on flight characteristics, ensuring greater legal validity. This would provide a basis for the frequency management/protection agencies of the Ministry of Information and Communications and the Ministry of Public Security to protect GPS frequencies and ensure GPS signal security in Vietnamese airspace.
Industry 4.0 revolution in aviation training for American universities in Vietnam (AUV)
Established in 2015 and located in Da Nang City, AUV is the first non-profit university in Vietnam with 100% foreign investment. AUV provides Vietnamese students with a US-standard education in various fields such as Hospitality and Tourism Management, Multimedia Communications, and more.
The American University in Vietnam campus is located in Da Nang city.
Specifically for the aviation industry, AUV clearly identifies its strengths in collaborating with major aviation partners and specialized educational institutions with many years of experience in training personnel for the aviation industry, forming a closed and systematic alliance education system.
AUV's success is not only measured by its high graduation rate and good job prospects, but also by the sustainable and long-term development of each student, the affirmation of their personal passions, and the formation of their lifelong adaptability, innovation, and creativity.
