Michael Schiefel is a phenomenon both in the German jazz scene and on stage. As a singer, he experiments with his bright, expressive but sometimes raspy voice and with looping devices that create the effect of a solo performance against a full orchestra.
On the evening of May 21st, he will perform songs from his album “My home is my tent”. His unique songs show that he is a visionary thinker, someone who does not follow conventional structures but often goes his own way. That creates the impressive sound paintings of this artist.

In particular, on the evening of May 22, he will have an impromptu performance with members of JumpForJazz - a project supporting young talented musicians in Hanoi. In particular, the founder of the institute, Nguyen Bao Long, is also a name in the Vietnamese jazz scene and wants to create conditions for young musicians to be known to more audiences and have the opportunity to perform with other artists. The joint performance with Michael Schiefel on May 22, which the artists rehearsed for two consecutive days, will certainly be an extremely interesting experience. Because Michael Schiefel not only has a special voice that can reach up to the soprano tone, but his stage performance style is also very unique.
Solo concert by Michael Schiefel on 21/5/2015 at 8:00 PM and Improvisational Concert with Michael Schiefel & JumpForJazz on 22/5/2015 at 8:00 PM at Goethe-Institut Hanoi. Free admission.
