Vietnamese Ethnic Culture Day 2018

The 2018 Vietnamese Ethnic Culture Day will take place from April 19-24 with the theme "National cultural identity contributes to building and developing Vietnamese culture and people to meet the requirements of sustainable national development", and summarizes 10 years of implementing Decision No. 1668/QD-TTg dated November 17, 2008 of the Prime Minister on "Vietnamese Ethnic Culture Day", at the Vietnamese Ethnic Culture and Tourism Village (Dong Mo, Son Tay, Hanoi).

The festival had the participation of 270 artisans and people of 30 ethnic groups representing various ethnic groups and regions.

The Ethnic Culture Night Program is the highlight of the event, including performances imbued with the cultural identity of Vietnamese ethnic groups, honoring the national cultural identity. Along with many other rich and attractive activities such as: ethnic and regional cultural festivals; Exhibition of 10 years of the journey of the Vietnamese Ethnic Culture Day; Conference summarizing 10 years of implementing the Prime Minister's Decision on the Vietnamese Ethnic Culture Day.

In addition, during the festival, ethnic and regional cultures will also be recreated: Chol Chnam Thmay New Year of the Khmer people, Southern Khmer Du Ke Stage Art Performance; Reenactment of the Xang Khan Festival of the Thai people; Culinary performance of ethnic groups in the Northwest region; Reenactment of the Rain-praying Ceremony of the Gia Rai people; Performance of Central Highlands melodies...

The exhibition of 10 years of the Vietnam Ethnic Culture Day will display photos and artifacts related to the cultural life of the Gia Rai people in Gia Lai; contents related to the historical story commemorating the day Uncle Ho sent a letter to the Southern Ethnic Minorities Congress in Pleiku (April 19, 1946 - April 19, 2018). In addition, the Organizing Committee also selected to display 50 photos introducing typical activities of the Vietnam Ethnic Culture Day held in the Village over the past 10 years.
