As soon as this information was officially announced, the film project received a lot of attention from the media in Vietnam. On the morning of March 16, through the official distributor in the Vietnamese market, the producer of Kong: Skull Island sent a letter to share with the media. The film crew and producer were very surprised and grateful for the enthusiastic support of the Vietnamese press and media for the first time officially filming a Hollywood film with a Vietnamese setting.

The producer emphasized that Kong: Skull Island is not a sequel or a remake of previous King Kong films. This is a completely original film and has a new setting in the Kong myth. Therefore, using the name King Kong 2 when referring to Kong: Skull Island is incorrect. This information was mentioned by the film crew at a press conference on February 21 when they first arrived in Vietnam.

Ninh Binh is one of the places where the movie was filmed.
Currently, the crew's travel, filming schedule, location, preparation and filming activities are being affected quite a lot when some newspapers continuously publish articles announcing this information. The crew's activities are all committed to confidentiality by written agreements from Vietnamese partners, so the information published may not accurately reflect what the crew is doing. In addition, this affects the privacy and productivity of the crew while the production time must be very precise with the progress. The producer will provide important press information officially through the distributor at the appropriate time.
The images recorded at the studio are only a part of the entire film production process, then the producer needs to carefully select each frame and do post-production, so only when the film is completed and shown on the big screen, the complete effects are enough to bring the audience the best cinematic experience. Unofficial images will more or less affect the movie viewing experience, so the film crew also wants to limit information appearing on mass media to ensure the confidentiality as well as surprise of the film when it is released.
The goodwill of cooperation from media channels in Vietnam is a contribution to creating conditions for the success of the Kong: Skull Island film crew, and moreover, it also contributes to creating the image of an ideal destination for future film projects.
Currently, the film crew has completed filming in Quang Binh, Ninh Binh and moved to Quang Ninh. The last scene in Vietnam will be filmed in Cat Ba (Hai Phong). It is expected that by March 19 at the latest, Kong: Skull Island will complete its last scene in Vietnam. Kong: Skull Island is expected to be released in March 2017.
