On the afternoon of August 3rd, information appeared online stating that the management board of Nui Chua National Park was coordinating with the People's Committee of Vinh Hai commune (Ninh Hai district, Ninh Thuan province) to verify and reprimand a group of tourists wearing bikinis who were picking up trash. A leader of Nui Chua National Park even commented that the group's actions were offensive.
However, the majority of netizens expressed the opposite view. They argued that wearing bikinis on the beach is perfectly normal, and that the group's act of picking up trash was even commendable.

Speaking to Zing, Mr. Nguyen Van Hoa, Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Ninh Thuan province, said he had seen the images of this group of tourists. Mr. Hoa affirmed that their actions did not violate any legal regulations.
Ngo Nhu Quynh (living in Ho Chi Minh City) is one of the people in this group. She said she was upset by the information that her group was reprimanded and asked to remove the images because they were considered offensive.
"We traveled from Ho Chi Minh City for three days, from July 28th to July 30th. The litter cleanup wasn't an organized or planned activity; it was completely spontaneous. That day, my group went swimming at the beach, and the homestay owner came along. He often encourages tourists and locals to join in picking up trash to protect the environment on the island. We thought it was meaningful, so we did it together," Ms. Quynh shared.

The female tourist shared that she didn't understand why her actions and those of her friends were being "condemned." According to her, wearing a bikini at the beach is perfectly normal. Furthermore, there were no signs prohibiting bikinis in the area.
She added: "Even if we have to remove the images, I don't think we did anything wrong. We're simply disappointed with how some people perceive this action."
