La La Land (2016)
Dubbed as “a love song for dreamers”, La La Land became a global sensation at the end of 2016. Young director Damien Chazelle created an outdoor “Broadway stage” in the charming city of Los Angeles, in which the love story of musician Seb (Ryan Gosling) and young actress Mia (Emma Stone) was the highlight. The songs in the film such as Another Day of Sun, Someone in the Crowd or especially City of Stars became hits, reaping many individual achievements, not just associated with each film.

At the 2017 Oscars, La La Land won six awards, including “Best Actress” for Emma Stone, “Best Director” for Damien Chazelle, and “Best Original Song” for City of Stars. The film also ushered in a new era for romantic films with musical elements.
The Greatest Showman (2017)
Almost a year after the success of La La Land, Hollywood has another notable work called The Greatest Showman. The film is based on the true story of the life of PT Barnum (Hugh Jackman) - who is considered the father of vaudeville shows. The Greatest Showman has many catchy melodies with outstanding songs such as Never Enough, This is Me, A Million Dreams.

In addition to the love story between PT and the rich young lady Charity (played by Michelle Williams), the film also depicts the romantic love of the couple Phillip (Zac Efron) and Anne (Zendaya) in PT's circus. The Greatest Showman is considered the most outstanding musical film of 2017 and was nominated for a Golden Globe.
A Star is Born (2018)
As the directorial debut of actor Bradley Cooper, A Star is Born takes viewers on a journey of love, both happy and tragic, between the artist duo Jack (Bradley Cooper) and Ally (Lady Gaga). This is the fourth time Hollywood has made a film based on the script of A Star is Born, after three versions in 1937, 1954 and 1976. Released last fall, the film dominated the year-end film awards and moved viewers with its story of "artist love".

A Star is Born earned Oscar nominations for both Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper. The two performed “Shallow” with a passionate performance, and the song later won the Golden Statue for “Best Original Song”. Shallow also climbed to the top of the Billboard Hot 100 chart and has been a love song loved by millions of young audiences for over a year.
Yesterday (2019)
British director Danny Boyle is famous for films with unique cinematic language such as Trainspotting (1996), 28 Days Later (2002), 127 Hours (2010), Steve Jobs (2015) or most famously Slumdog Millionaire (2009). Returning to the big screen after two years, Danny Boyle brings to the audience a musical romance film with a new idea with songs by the legendary The Beatles: Yesterday.

Jack Malik (Himesh Patel) is a singer-songwriter living in a small town on the coast of England and is in a difficult situation. His dream of reaching the pinnacle of fame is increasingly distant for Jack, even though he receives a lot of encouragement from his childhood friend Ellie (Lily James). Then after a rare accident, Jack wakes up and discovers that he is living in a world where the legendary band The Beatles never existed...
Performing Beatles covers in a world where no one has ever heard of the band, with the support of his iron-hearted manager Debra (Kate McKinnon), Jack quickly reaches the pinnacle of fame. But along with that fame comes the loss of Ellie - the only person in the world who believes in him.

Yesterday is named after the song considered “the greatest of the 20th century” by The Beatles. In addition to the two main actors Himesh Patel and Lily James, the film also has the participation of “prince of love songs” Ed Sheeran. The film is considered the most outstanding romantic musical masterpiece of the year.
