This is an ideal event to introduce and promote unique cultural values, resources, and tourism products, aiming to attract domestic and international tourists to Quang Ninh province in particular and Vietnam in general.
Within the framework of the program, 50 unique cultural, sports, and tourism events will be organized by Quang Ninh in coordination with pioneering local businesses. Highlight events attracting significant attention include the Opening Ceremony and the Ha Long Carnival 2018 in April 2018 at Ha Long Park, and the Closing Ceremony coinciding with the Opening of the ASEAN Tourism Forum 2019 and the Ha Long - FLC Golf Tournament 2019 in January 2019 at the FLC Ha Long resort complex.
According to Vice Chairman of the Quang Ninh Provincial People's Committee Vu Thi Thu Thuy, this is the second time Quang Ninh province has hosted the National Tourism Year. However, the scale of the first event in 2003 was somewhat modest. This year, the remarkable development of infrastructure and facilities serving tourism allows the series of events for the 2018 National Tourism Year to not only increase in number but also expand in types and locations.
