This is an ideal event to introduce and promote cultural values, resources and unique tourism products, aiming to attract domestic and international tourists to Quang Ninh province in particular and Vietnam in general.
Within the framework of the program, 50 unique cultural, sports and tourism programs will be organized by Quang Ninh in coordination with pioneering local investment enterprises. The highlight events that attract much attention are the Opening Ceremony and the Ha Long Carnival 2018 in April 2018 at Ha Long Park, the Closing Ceremony associated with the Opening of the ASEAN Tourism Forum 2019 and the Ha Long - FLC 2019 Golf Tournament in January 2019 at the FLC Ha Long resort complex.
Vice Chairwoman of Quang Ninh Provincial People's Committee Vu Thi Thu Thuy said that this is the second time Quang Ninh province has hosted the National Tourism Year. However, the scale of the first event in 2003 was somewhat modest. This year, the remarkable development of infrastructure and facilities serving tourism has allowed the series of events of the National Tourism Year 2018 to not only increase in number, but also expand in types and venues.
