Recently, a study from luggage storage company Bounce revealed the safest countries in the world for solo travelers.

When it comes to safety, the study found that Japan is the safest country for solo travelers in 2023, thanks in part to its low crime rate. Switzerland came in second, followed by Slovenia.

But when other factors like length of stay, cost savings and dining scene are taken into account, Croatia is rated as the best country for solo travelers this year. Not only does it have a low crime rate, but it also has affordable accommodation, plenty of restaurants and plenty of outdoor activities from national parks to stunning beaches.

Malta comes in as the second best country overall for solo travelers, followed by Slovenia. Also in the top 10 are Portugal, Iceland, Greece, Hungary, Spain, Singapore and Israel.
