Book launch 'Vespa Travelogue - From Rome to Saigon'

At 5:30 p.m. on September 20 at the Italian Culture and Brand Center (Casa Italia), 18 Le Phung Hieu, Hanoi, the Italian Embassy and Thai Ha Book Joint Stock Company will introduce the newly published book titled “Vespa Travelogue – From Rome to Saigon” by author Giorgio Bettinelli.

The book"VEspa travelogue - From Rome to Saigon" by the authorGiorgio Bettinelli recounts his first trip on a Vespa PX 125 distributed, over 24,000km, from Rome (Italy) to Saigon (Vietnam). The story begins when Giorgio Bettinelli was given an old Vespa. At that time, the author had never ridden a two-wheeled vehicle. But this was truly a "love at first sight" and from that moment, Bettinelli began his life's journeys on a Vespa. During his "first motorbike riding", he went through Bali, Java and Sumatra (Indonesia). After that, he decided to return to Italy to begin his journey from Rome to Saigon (Vietnam).

Within the framework of the program “Italy – Vietnam 2013: Year of Italy in Vietnam” and on the occasion of the 40th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Italy and Vietnam, the Italian Embassy organized this event to help readers have the opportunity to directly interact with guests from Italy, thereby gaining a deeper understanding of the country, people and rich culture imbued with identity. The guests attending the program were: Mr. Lorenzo Angeloni, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Italy to Vietnam; Mr. Giuseppe Messina, Marketing Strategy Director for the Asia Pacific region of Piaggio Vietnam Company; Mr. Dang Ngoc Lam, Vice President of Hanoi Old Vespa Club; Dr. Nguyen Manh Hung, Chairman of the Board of Directors and General Director of Thai Ha Books Joint Stock Company (Thaihabooks).

Through this program, readers will also have the opportunity to meet and interact with Italian and Vietnamese friends who are passionate about traveling, exploring, and have a deep love for Vespa.
