Renault's first Formula 1 racing car made its debut at the 1977 British Grand Prix, where Jean-Pierre Jabouille launched the first Formula 1 car, the RS01. Jabouille returned with the RS01 at the Monaco Grand Prix on Friday, May 26th.

Joining Jabouille, a four-time Formula 1 champion, is Renault Ambassador and Renault Indrector Racing special advisor Alain Prost, who will also be present with the RE 40, Renault's first carbon fiber chassis car, which has won four races at Paul Ricard, Spa, Silverstone, and Österreichring.

To highlight Renault's unique professionalism throughout its 40 years since its Formula 1 debut, Renault Sport Formula One driver Nico Hülkenberg will drive the latest Megane RS for its official debut. Following the theme introduced at the 2017 Frankfurt Motor Show, the new Mégane RS will be presented in a special yellow and black color scheme.

The Renault Sport Formula One Team is planning a number of events to celebrate the 40th anniversary of Renault Formula 1, with initiatives from partners and the participation of customers who have contributed significantly to the success of Renault Formula 1.
