Renault's first Formula 1 race was at the 1977 British Grand Prix, where Jean-Pierre Jabouille launched the first Formula 1 car, the RS01. Jabouille returns with the RS01 at the Monaco race on Friday 26 May.

Joining Jabouille, four-time Formula 1 champion, will be Renault Ambassador and Renault Indrector Racing special advisor Alain Prost, who will also be joined by the RE 40, Renault's first carbon-fibre chassis, which has four wins on the Paul Ricard, Spa, Silverstone and Österreichring circuits.

To underline Renault’s unique expertise in the 40 years since its Formula 1 debut, Renault Sport Formula One driver Nico Hülkenberg will drive the latest Megane RS for its first official appearance. Following the theme that debuted at the 2017 Frankfurt Motor Show, the new Mégane RS will be presented in a special yellow and black livery.

Renault Sport Formula One Team plans a number of events to celebrate 40 years of Renault Formula 1 history, with partner initiatives and customer engagement, who have all contributed to Renault Formula 1's success.
