Lao Cai aims to welcome 10 million tourists or more by 2025, of which Sa Pa alone will welcome about 5.8 million visitors, with revenue reaching 27,900 billion VND. To achieve this goal, Sa Pa has just announced a series of tourism activities for the Spring Festival and Lunar New Year 2025, taking place until the end of March 2025; expected to welcome about 300,000 visitors.
The 2024 Winter Festival and 2025 Spring Festival events will last from December 2024 to the end of March 2025. Starting from December 2024, the 2024 Christmas event series with the theme "Sa Pa - Snowy Paradise" will explore the O Long tea hills and unique cherry blossoms in O Quy Ho ward. Tourists can check-in with the beautiful scenery, enjoy O Long tea and participate in the sparkling Christmas space, full of Christmas colors including gift boxes, reindeer, sleigh, Santa Claus at Sa Pa Ethnic Culture Park.
With the wild beauty of the Northwest mountains and forests, along with the intersection of many cultures, Sa Pa is always an attractive destination for tourists.
The New Year's Eve event series starts at 8:00 p.m. on December 31, 2024 with a special Art Program and New Year Countdown held at the Quan Stadium with the participation of famous artists such as Sen Hoang My Lan, Son Dam, Hai Yen, Minh Quan, Hoang Son, Hoang Kieu Linh, Viet Tu, Ocean Dance Group, DJ Marina & Joli and artisans.
Tourists will be able to admire the magnificent New Year's Eve moment with brilliant fireworks. The first 50 guests to visit Sa Pa will receive special gifts at the event "Welcoming the first tourists to Sa Pa in 2025" held at Sa Pa Ethnic Culture Park at 08:00 on January 1, 2025.
Art program "Sa Pa - Spring Dance" (8:00 p.m., January 1, 2025) at Quan Stadium, Sa Pa town: Music festival night with a combination of traditional and modern art, with famous singers, dance troupes and folk performances by Mong, Dao, Tay, Giay, Xa Pho artists.
On this occasion, visitors can experience the cultural space of Sa Pa ethnic groups in miniature through the community of 5 ethnic minorities with many rich activities such as: experiencing traditional crafts, music space, folk games and performances... from New Year's Day until the end of the 15th day of the first lunar month of At Ty.
