In terms of form, IONAH is a fusion of performing arts and modern forms of entertainment with the support of high-tech stage. In terms of content, IONAH is built to depict the emotional states found in the stormy love story of a Hanoi couple, in which the emotional development of the female protagonist IONAH is especially depicted.
The adventures of the girl IONAH are recreated through 12 scenes corresponding to 12 different levels of emotions, sometimes romantic dates, passionate happiness, sometimes moments of jealousy, deadlock... In that series of emotions, she meets strange creatures and struggles with a series of torn emotions. But after all, the girl also finds positive love and returns to happiness in her real world.
The message of love is expressed in a colorful space, with the combination of many different modern art forms from dance, drama, circus, hip-hop to visual arts, lighting effects...
There is an interesting point, that is the psychological developments in IONAH are so touching and sublime because of the admirable real-life love story of the two main characters. Bui Huong and Thanh Tuan - the two main actors of IONAH both come from circus backgrounds. But it seems that many years of hard training with circus and winning many important international awards are not enough to satisfy the love of art in these two people. Coming to IONAH, Bui Huong - Thanh Tuan together spent days honing their musical sense, dancing, acting... to have both the dexterity of circus movements, but also the vibrations of physical art, of music, of every facial expression, in every hand and foot movement. IONAH is like a chance, a good omen, helping these two young artists to further sublimate in art and love.
Director Pham Hoai Nam, musician Quoc Trung, costume designer Nguyen Cong Tri, choreographer Tran Ly Ly, circus director Meritorious Artist Tong Toan Thang, visual director Fernardo Toma and a team of more than 30 actors from various art forms such as circus, drama, dance, contortion, hip hop... - these names are like "tickets" that guarantee a show with a lot of care, dedication and artistry.
