In terms of form, IONAH is a blend of artistic physical performance and modern entertainment, supported by high-tech stage technology. In terms of content, IONAH is structured to depict the emotional states experienced in the tumultuous love story of a Hanoi couple, particularly focusing on the emotional development of the female protagonist, IONAH.
The adventure of the girl Ionah is recreated through 12 scenes, each corresponding to a different range of emotions, from romantic dates and blissful happiness to moments of jealousy and despair. Throughout this emotional journey, she encounters strange creatures and struggles with conflicting feelings. But in the end, she finds positive love again and returns to happiness in her real world.
This message of love is expressed in a vibrant space, combining various modern art forms from dance, drama, circus, hip-hop to visual arts and lighting effects...
Interestingly, the emotional depth and emotional impact of IONAH are due to the admirable real-life love story of the two main characters. Bui Huong and Thanh Tuan – the two lead actors in IONAH – both come from circus backgrounds. However, years of rigorous training in circus arts and winning numerous important international awards seemed insufficient to satisfy their passion for art. Through IONAH, Bui Huong and Thanh Tuan honed their musicality, dance skills, and acting abilities, achieving both the dexterity of circus movements and the emotional resonance of physical art, music, and every facial expression and gesture. IONAH, like a stroke of luck, helped these two young artists further flourish in their art and their love story.
Director Pham Hoai Nam, musician Quoc Trung, costume designer Nguyen Cong Tri, choreographer Tran Ly Ly, circus director Meritorious Artist Tong Toan Thang, visual director Fernando Toma, along with a team of over 30 performers from various art forms such as circus, theater, dance, contortion, hip hop… – these names are like "tickets" guaranteeing a show that is meticulously crafted, full of passion and artistic merit.
