Spanish Night – A night of Spanish music

At 8:00 PM on October 14, 2015, the Spanish Embassy in Vietnam, in collaboration with the Vietnam National Academy of Music, organized the Spanish Night event, held at the Vietnam National Academy of Music (77 Hao Nam Street, Dong Da District, Hanoi).

This is a program of Spanish classical music organized to celebrate Spanish National Day with the support of the Cervantes Chamber in Hanoi and Gestión Educativa Consultores SA.

Within the framework of the program, the audience will enjoy outstanding works by renowned Spanish composers, performed by the Hanoi Symphony Orchestra, under the direction of Spanish conductor David Gómez Ramírez (Director of the Lira Saguntina Symphony Orchestra and Choir), and with the special participation of two solo artists: Nguyen Thanh Hang (a Spanish-Vietnamese guitarist) and Anna Sowanna Takeda (a young Japanese violinist).

The program is a musical journey beginning in Seville, the capital of the Andalucia region in southern Spain, with works such as: “Sevilla” (Isaac Albéniz), “Fantasía de Carmen” (Pablo de Sarasate), “Aires Gitanos” (Pablo de Sarasate). The journey continues in Madrid with “El Bateo” (Federico Chueca) and then to the Mediterranean region of Spain with works such as “Serenata Española” (Miguel Asíns Arbó's version), “Zapateado – Fantasía” (Celedonio Romero) and especially the “Adagio” movement (from Joaquín Rodrigo's masterpiece Concierto de Aranjuez). The musical journey will then end at its starting point: Seville with Joaquín Turina's “La procesión del Rocío”.
