Sun blessed - Thank you, sun

24/10/2016

In the city, few think about sunset, few think about the privilege of leaving behind all the worries and busyness at the end of the day. People don't see the sun slowly setting on the horizon. In the city, the sun just disappears; no one knows where it goes except for the scattered streaks of pink sunlight cast across the sky, behind the skyscrapers. No one is grateful when they are still grumpily inching forward centimeter by centimeter to get home.

Have you ever spent time watching the sunset at the beach? At dawn, the universe is so peaceful that you can hear the sea breeze and the gentle lapping of waves against the shore. On cloudless days, the beach is untouched by footprints, and the sea is perfectly still, everything fresh and pure as if born in the night.

Not being an early riser, I choose to watch the sunset. Sunsets are beautiful, a minimalist beauty that, whether it's a clear day or a drizzling rain, still captivates and inspires silent admiration. From the moment the pink clouds float like flamingos across the sky, when the sun is still shining brightly, until the entire landscape is bathed in a fiery orange hue at the horizon.

Sunrise and sunset taught me patience and gratitude. The sun fades away to become night. Night accumulates energy to give birth to a new day. No matter how brilliant the light, it will eventually fade, and darkness will give way to new light. You cannot expect a sunrise twice without a sunset. It is only in the moment of facing what is about to be lost that we realize what we still have, even if only for a few brief minutes each day…
