Tan My is a traditional hand embroidery workshop in Hanoi with a four-generation history, founded in 1969 by Ms. Bach Thi Ngai (also known as Ms. Tan My) – an artisan from Van Phuc silk village. Ms. Ngai's embroidered products were renowned for their beauty, earning the trust of her customers. Recognizing the great potential of the traditional hand embroidery market, Ms. Ngai's family decided to diversify their product range. Therefore, in 2009, the Tan My Design brand became well-known and a top choice for those who appreciate artistic fashion and home furnishings.

Speaking at the ceremony, Ms. Dang Huong Giang – Deputy Director of the Hanoi Department of Tourism said: “With its convenient location, spacious area, and harmonious and sophisticated artistic arrangement creating unique and novel traditional values in each product of Tan My, I believe that Tan My Design will be one of the attractive destinations and an exciting shopping experience for domestic and international tourists when visiting Hanoi.”

Speaking at the ceremony, Ms. Nguyen Thuy Linh (third generation of Tan My, currently the CEO of Tan My Design) said that being selected and recognized by the Hanoi Department of Tourism as a facility meeting standards for serving tourists is a great honor and a recognition of the family's persistent efforts in preserving and promoting traditional crafts and Vietnamese brands.

Ms. Linh stated that, in reality, Tan My Design and its hand-embroidered products are favored and sought after by many foreign tourists, including heads of state and their wives, such as US President Bill Clinton, the wife of the President of Ireland Sabina Higgins, and most recently, the President of Chile, along with many international ambassadors in Vietnam. However, it is regrettable that these products, deeply rooted in tradition, are little known to domestic tourists. Therefore, Ms. Linh expressed her hope that, after being recognized as a standard tourist destination, Tan My Design will have the opportunity to welcome more domestic tourists and bring traditional Vietnamese products to Vietnamese people.

Located in the heart of the old town in a spacious 1000m2 area, Tan My Design attracts tourists with a wide variety of handmade fashion and handicraft products made from natural materials by domestic and international designers such as Minh Hanh, Ha Truong, Bianco Levrin, Lolo Zazar, Ipa Nima, My Way Deco, Pascal Dang, Chula, Rehahn Photography... Moreover, when visiting Tan My Design, customers can enjoy coffee, snacks, piano music, and admire the artworks in the store.
