A boat carrying 45 foreign tourists was damaged in Ha Long Bay.

At approximately 8:00 AM on February 23rd, the QN 6091 vessel of Phuong Hien Co., Ltd., while carrying tourists on a tour of Ha Long Bay, encountered an incident when it struck a gravel road. Upon approaching the Hoa Cuong area, the captain noticed water entering the vessel and steered it to the shallow area near Ngon Tay islet, transferring passengers to two other vessels from the same company to ensure their safety.

The QN 6091 vessel, with a capacity of 48 passengers and a power of 63 horsepower, was licensed by authorities to depart the port at 6:55 AM on February 23rd. There were 47 passengers on board, including 45 foreign tourists. The vessel was licensed to follow route 2 (Soi Sim beach, Ti Top island, Sung Sot cave, Me Cung cave, Luon cave).

According to the Quang Ninh Inland Waterway Port Authority, from February 15th to February 22nd, they conducted inspections in 60 cases, of which 21 were penalized for violations such as: insufficient, incorrect, or substandard life-saving, rescue, and fire-fighting equipment.

The port authority has requested ship owners to rectify and supplement equipment and tools to meet requirements, and only after the deadline for handling violations as stipulated will permission be granted for the ships to leave the port or dock.
