The world-class sporting event Techcombank Ironman 70.3 Vietnam 2018 - held on Sunday, May 13, 2018. The event is expected to attract a record number of participants, with more than 1,600 athletes from 56 countries, including 620 Vietnamese athletes. Techcombank Ironman 70.3 Vietnam is a continuous triathlon race, starting with a 1.9km swim at Hyatt Regency Beach, a 90km bike race on the road along the Da Nang coast and ending with a 21km run. The race will give athletes the opportunity to compete and experience the beautiful scenery of the coastal city of Da Nang. This is also one of the rare races where both professional and amateur athletes can compete with each other and strive to break their limits when reaching the finish line.

The professional category will be extremely interesting in this year's tournament with the competition of strong athletes in both the men's and women's divisions. In the men's division, the competition between the defending champion, Tim Van Berkel, and the 2016 Ironman 70.3 world champion, Tim Reed, promises to be extremely attractive and dramatic. The tournament also has the participation of a number of other notable male athletes such as Sam Betten, Mike Phillips, Brad Williams ... In the women's division, there will be the defending champion Anna Eberhardt and Caroline Steffen - who has won the Ironman 70.3 Vietnam twice. Other top female athletes participating include the recent Ironman 70.3 champion in Davao, Radka Vodickova, the 2017 runner-up and third-place finishers Dimity Lee Duke and Leanne Szeto.
Individual competitors will have the opportunity to qualify for the Ironman 70.3 Asia Pacific Championship in Cebu, Philippines on August 5 and the Ironman 70.3 World Championship in Nelson Mandela Bay, South Africa on September 1 and 2, with 50 and 30 tickets available, respectively, for the top positions in each age group.
