According to the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), international visitors must complete the Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC) within three days before arriving in the country. The new policy applies to international visitors arriving in Thailand by air, land and sea starting May 1.
The information required on the TDAC card is similar to the paper form previously used for declaration, including personal information, travel and stay information, and health declaration, except that visitors can do it online. The country hopes that implementing the digital declaration system will help the entry process become faster, more transparent, and reduce paperwork.

Declarants can log in directly at the website tdac.immigration.go.th or scan the QR code on the website and fill in the required information such as: full name, nationality, phone number, email address, passport number, residential address... After submitting the application, the digital immigration card will be sent to the provided email. Visitors can print it out or save it on their phone to present upon entry.
The online declaration replaces the paper version of the entry form TM6, which was abolished last year. The move to a digital system aims to simplify the entry process and improve processing efficiency at border checkpoints. It is part of Thailand's strategy to become a "Smart Tourist Destination", improving the travel experience for foreign visitors.

To promote the system, the Thai Immigration Department has rolled out multilingual promotional materials, including instructional videos and documents in English, Chinese, Korean, Russian and Japanese. In addition, Thailand has postponed the implementation of the Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) system, which was scheduled to be implemented on December 1 last year, to pre-screen visa-exempt visitors.
According to a report by the General Statistics Office of Vietnam, in the first 11 months of 2024, about 1 million Vietnamese people chose Thailand as their tourist destination, accounting for a significant proportion of the total 5.3 million Vietnamese tourists going abroad in the year. The Land of Golden Pagodas has always been a familiar international destination for Vietnamese people thanks to its affordable costs, convenient travel with diverse routes and attractive entertainment programs.
