This is one of a series of activities of the Ho Chi Minh City Economic Forum 2023 organized by Saigon Giai Phong Newspaper and the Ho Chi Minh City Business Association under the chairmanship of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee. The award aims to honor green businesses: those with products and services that apply green growth and sustainable development models.
Mr. Vo Van Hoan, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City, and Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Hoa, Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City Business Association, presented the Green Business certificate and commemorative plaque to Mr. Nguyen Van Hung Cuong, General Director of SASCO.
SASCO's achievement of the Ho Chi Minh City Green Enterprise title in 2023 is the result of its pioneering journey in pursuing a sustainable development strategy, choosing green business as its strategy and competitive advantage.
Throughout its business operations, SASCO is committed to green services, minimizing the use of natural resources, enhancing ecological regeneration, and reducing harmful waste. In addition, the company strives to spread the "green" spirit through numerous community projects that raise awareness and promote environmental protection, including: Green Day - Green Life: planting trees in Da Lat city; I Love the Green Planet: planting trees in schools; Think Green - Go Green: reducing plastic waste; Saving food for a greener earth…saving energy…
Through its Think Green - Go Green program, SASCO is giving away cloth bags to customers to reduce the use of plastic bags, minimize plastic waste, and protect the environment.
SASCO launched the tree planting project for Da Lat city in April 2022.
Green and sustainable business strategies are key to SASCO's rapid recovery after the pandemic. Returning after two years of impact from Covid-19, SASCO proactively adapted to the market, strengthened comprehensive digital transformation to improve management efficiency; optimized customer experience, integrated sustainable development goals into business, and harmonized corporate interests with the environment and the community.
Previously, SASCO had consistently ranked among the TOP 10 leading sustainable development enterprises in Vietnam in the trade and service sector for seven consecutive years (2016-2022), as selected by the Vietnam Business Council for Sustainable Development.
