Experience the premium economy class when flying.

In late October of last year, those who had flown on Japan Airlines' B787 Dreamliner flights between Vietnam and Japan would have noticed a new seating class, in addition to economy and business class: the Premium Economy class. This class offered amenities similar to business class.

Japan Airlines (JAL) is known as one of the largest airlines in Asia. Founded on October 1, 1953, Japan Airlines became the national airline of Japan. However, it was privatized in 1987 and merged with Japan Air System in 2002. Currently, the airline has offices in many major Japanese cities, including Tokyo, Osaka, Nagoya, and Okinawa. Its headquarters are located in Tokyo, with its main operational hubs at Narita International Airport (NRT), Tokyo International Airport (HND), and also Kansai International Airport (KIX) and Osaka International Airport (ITM).

In 2007, Japan Airlines decided to join the international airline alliance Oneworld and became a prominent member, holding the title of having the largest number of Boeing 747 aircraft in the world at that time.

In October 2015, Japan Airlines introduced the new B787 Dreamliner, a next-generation aircraft with many superior features for customers. Notably, this new configuration allows for the addition of a Premium Economy class alongside the two previously offered classes: Business and Economy.

The seats in the premium economy class of the B787 Dreamliner are designed to be spacious and offer amenities similar to those in business class. There is over 10 cm more legroom between seats, ample under-seat storage, and a standard A4-sized tray table.

Throughout the flight, passengers in premium economy enjoy services similar to those in business class. In particular, the food and beverage selection is quite extensive. Passengers can choose from European, Asian, or Japanese cuisine. The cabin also offers light wines such as Souchou and Champagne.

Japan Airlines' reputation for quality wasn't established only with the introduction of premium economy class. Since 1951, Japan Airlines has consistently been a leader in first-class service. With top priorities, the airline invests heavily in high-quality seating and entertainment options for this class. Specifically, the leather seats are manufactured by Poltrona Frau, and the seats extend into spacious, comfortable beds, providing passengers with a relaxing and pleasant experience. Another impressive aspect of Japan Airlines flights is the wide variety of food and beverages available, catering to the tastes of most passengers.

There's one title that no airline would want to have like Japan Airlines: "The world's most punctual airline." Japan Airlines received this title in 2012 from FlightStats, a leading provider of flight services and airport information.
