Drawing inspiration from abstract concepts that everyone in this world possesses: time, youth, and the true value of life, artist Ta Bach Duong creates keys to unlock the "box of memories," satisfying the desire to capture every moment of time, to preserve all the smallest things in life with their emotions—joy, sadness, pain, hope, and even love….
Polyester is the base material for the works in the exhibition. Its characteristic when frozen is that it forms a thick, transparent layer of water. It can envelop, solidify, and permanently store anything I put inside. I used it with the idea of "freezing" and "packaging" thoughts and feelings – the beautiful, fleeting joys and sorrows.
The series of works created during my residency – “EVERY DAY” – captures the beauty of the place where the artist is residing using familiar and readily available materials I collected while living there. I then poured polyester into them and cured them to create a miniature 3D space.
