Ms. Nguyen Thi Trinh - Deputy Director of Da Nang Fine Arts Museum said that the exhibition introduces 62 typical paintings in the selected collection of the Vietnam Fine Arts Museum with the desire to bring to the public of Da Nang a deeper understanding of the beauty of a unique folk art form with the diversity and richness of famous folk paintings such as: Dong Ho (Thuan Thanh - Bac Ninh), Hang Trong, Kim Hoang (Hanoi), and some worship paintings of Vu Di (Vinh Phuc), Doc Loi (Nghe An) ... Each painting line has a very unique way of expression, natural and brilliant colors, skillful carvings and drawings imbued with national identity. With rich and vivid content, the paintings all express the eternal aspirations of the people towards a good life, peace, prosperity and happiness.

Vietnamese folk paintings are passed down in urban areas, villages and hamlets. Today, many craft villages still preserve and promote the paintings, contributing to enriching the spiritual life of Vietnamese people. Within the framework of the Exhibition, the Da Nang Fine Arts Museum will organize a number of interesting experiential activities called “Folk Paintings and Tet” from 3:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. on February 3 and 4 (Saturday and Sunday) as a new playground to help children in the city have the opportunity to interact, learn and experience some traditional folk paintings, especially Dong Ho painting printing techniques.
