Ms. Nguyen Thi Trinh, Deputy Director of the Da Nang Museum of Fine Arts, said that the exhibition showcases 62 representative paintings from the Vietnam Museum of Fine Arts' selected collection, aiming to give the public in Da Nang a deeper appreciation of the beauty of a unique folk art form, with the diversity and richness of famous folk painting styles such as Dong Ho (Thuan Thanh - Bac Ninh), Hang Trong, Kim Hoang (Hanoi), and some Vu Di (Vinh Phuc) and Doc Loi (Nghe An) devotional paintings… Each style has its own distinct expression, vibrant natural colors, and skillful carving and drawing techniques that reflect the national identity. With rich and lively content, the paintings all express the age-old aspirations of the people for a better, peaceful, prosperous, and happy life.

Vietnamese folk paintings have been passed down through generations in both urban areas and rural villages. Today, many traditional painting villages are still preserved and promoted, contributing to enriching the spiritual life of the Vietnamese people. With rich and vibrant content, these paintings all express the age-old aspirations of the people for a better, peaceful, prosperous, and happy life.

Within the framework of the Exhibition, the Da Nang Museum of Fine Arts will organize several interesting experiential activities called "Folk Paintings and Tet" from 3 PM to 5:30 PM on February 3rd and 4th (Saturday and Sunday) as a new playground to help children in the city have the opportunity to interact with, learn about, and experience firsthand some traditional folk painting styles, especially the Dong Ho painting printing technique.
