An established artist known for her richly figurative works of science and nature, Christine Nguyen will present a series of new, photographically-based works, including medium-sized biochromophoric prints and ambitious murals.

Combining drawing and photography, Christine Nguyen has developed a pioneering practice that focuses on the manipulation and superimposition of photographic negatives. Her work revolves around the imagination of symmetrical organic forms, a dreamlike world where the ocean meets the vast cosmos.
Christine’s paintings depict the powerful currents of the ocean, the writhing creatures of the unknown, the shimmering patches of vegetation, the thorny rocks and many other fantastical images; they all appear as independent performers in the collective tectonic movement of a mysterious biosphere. Christine’s complex multi-layered works remind us of our small place in the greatness of nature. Christine Nguyen is constantly exploring new limits of artistic materials. The mystical emotions that this work brings to the viewer are like stardust sprinkled on our inner imaginary world, a gentle call to the secret child inside each of us.
