Snow covers the northern mountainous provinces

25/01/2016

Thousands of tourists flocked to Sa Pa on January 24 and 25, leading to a shortage of rooms and hours of traffic jams in the town. In addition to Sapa, Moc Chau, Y Ty, Mau Son, and Ta Xua are also highland destinations covered in white snow, attracting many tourists despite the cold and freezing weather.

From the night of January 23 and early morning of January 24, snow began to fall in some places in Sa Pa (Lao Cai). Many tourists stayed up all night to see the snow. On the morning of January 25, the snow spread to many other places such as Mau Son (Lang Son), Moc Chau (Son La), Luc Ngan (Bac Giang), Khau Pha (Yen Bai), Yen Tu (Quang Ninh), Tam Dao (Vinh Phuc), even Ba Vi National Park (Hanoi) also had white snow.

According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, the northern and north central provinces will continue to experience widespread cold from now until January 27, while mountainous areas will continue to experience ice and snow.
