British billionaire wants to build a marina in Da Nang

British billionaire Joe Lewis expressed his intention to build a marina in Da Nang during a meeting with city leaders on the banks of the Han River.

Mr. Joe Lewis is traveling to beautiful places in Vietnam on his $150 million superyacht Aviva. He visited Ho Chi Minh City on April 30, then stopped by Can Tho and Phu Quoc Island (Kien Giang). On the morning of May 13, his yacht docked in Da Nang. The mooring of the 98m long superyacht Aviva at Tien Sa Port (Da Nang) was quite complicated, taking up to 30 minutes to complete.

During his stay in Da Nang, the British billionaire visited some famous tourist attractions such as Ba Na Hills, Da Nang night market, Hoi An ancient town and enjoyed the specialty chicken rice. At noon on May 14, Mr. Joe Lewis was warmly welcomed by Mr. Huynh Duc Tho, Chairman of Da Nang People's Committee. During the meeting, Mr. Huynh Duc Tho introduced to the 82-year-old billionaire the potential, advantages, landscapes and scenic spots of Da Nang city.

Mr. Joe Lewis was very impressed with the landscape and geographical location of the city on the banks of the Han River and believed that Da Nang was very suitable for developing cruise tourism and wished to cooperate with the city to invest in building a modern marina to attract high-end tourists in the near future. As planned, after finishing the Da Nang tour, Mr. Joe Lewis will move to Ha Long Bay (Quang Ninh).
