With the goal of gradually restoring the international flight network safely, meeting the travel needs of passengers and contributing to the redevelopment of the economy and tourism, from April 1, 2021 to June 30, 2021, VNA will expand its regular flight schedule to four international routes: Hanoi – Narita (Tokyo, Japan), Hanoi – Incheon (Seoul, South Korea), Hanoi – Sydney and Ho Chi Minh City – Sydney (Australia).
Specifically, the plan for operating international flights is as follows:
- Flights from Hanoi to Seoul will depart every Thursday.
- Flights from Hanoi to Tokyo will depart on the 3rd, 8th, 11th, 16th, 23rd, 27th, and 29th of April 2021. In May and June 2021, there will be two flights per week on Thursdays and Saturdays.
- Flights from Hanoi to Sydney depart every Saturday.
- Flights from Ho Chi Minh City to Sydney operate twice a week, on Thursdays and Sundays.

Currently, according to the entry regulations of various countries, flights from Vietnam only serve the needs of Vietnamese citizens studying, working, or visiting relatives abroad, and foreigners returning from Vietnam to their home countries, in compliance with the entry regulations of those countries. Passengers should proactively check the entry regulations officially announced by the embassies of each country to ensure they have the necessary documents and procedures. Vietnam Airlines will not be responsible in the event that a passenger is denied entry.
Regarding the repatriation of passengers from overseas, in accordance with the current entry regulations of the Vietnamese Government, VNA continues to transport passengers as allocated by the authorities in the form of repatriation flights and flights carrying experts.
In addition, VNA also plans to launch package flights from Japan, South Korea, and Taiwan (China). The operation of these flights depends on the approval of the relevant authorities.
Vietnam Airlines (VNA) is currently selling tickets to South Korea, Japan, and Australia at ticket offices, travel agencies, and on the website www.vietnamairlines.com. For regular updates and direct support, customers are encouraged to visit the website; the Vietnam Airlines mobile app; the official fanpage www.facebook.com/VietnamAirlines; contact the 24/7 Customer Service Hotline: 1900 1100; or visit VNA ticket offices nationwide.
Currently, VNA's international flights are being operated according to Level 4 pandemic prevention and control standards – the highest level in the airline's disease safety system. VNA's measures are assessed as ensuring a higher level of disease safety than the standards of the global airline alliance SkyTeam, equivalent to a 4/5 star rating from the aviation rating organization Skytrax and a 7/7 star rating from AirlineRatings.
